Jed's Island Resort - A Life-Size Statue of the RX-78-2 Gundam! [Updated 3/5/15]

Jed's Island Resort - A Life-Size Statue of the RX-78-2 Gundam!

Location: McArthur Highway, Calumpit, Bulacan

Jed's Island Resort is filled with statues of cartoon characters to even familiar mechas, among them a gaint RX-78-2 Gundam look alike statue.   The resort made the statue with a deformed look, as well as placing markings that advertise the resort.  But there is no mistaking... the statue is the RX-78-2 Gundam.

[Updated 3/5/15] *NEW*
Looks like they have repainted the color of this RX-78-2 Gundam lookalike statue... perhaps they had taken some flak from from the fans.

    1. the RX-78-2 or the Zeta Gundam could also be a good (or even better) anti-Marcos symbol just like Voltes V, if they aired in the Philippines (The 2 shows aired through Animax but obviously, they are aired LOONG after the Marcos regime)

  13. So we've already seen the build of a crappy RX-78 statue, the backlash, and the painting it in ridiculous colors in response to the backlash. I can't help but feel we're following a pattern here, so when do the random spikes and tubes come into the picture?
