It wouldn't make sense to chrome paint when it's assembled, would it? Some parts may get missed, even if it's disassembled in parts. So it's easier to chrome everything and assemble later. That would leave nub marks but that would save on the costly chrome paint that would otherwise used excessively if paint each part by part after removed from runners.
Because the normal one isn't expensive enough..... O_o
