Deleteso is this just a completely new design period or what is it based off of i see elements from numerous other gundams but not enough to say its based on any of them?
ReplyDeleteIt's based on the build strike and was build by the same builder Iori Sei I think.

ReplyDeleteThe design in G Gundam is officially called "God Gundam". It was called "Burning" ONLY in the US, and it was for the sake of political correctness. This new Build Burning Gundam is completely original, and it is the first to OFFICIALLY use the "Burning" name across all territories. It is not based on God Gundam at all in terms of design. From what I'm hearing, The only similarities they share is that it will fight with a martial arts style (which is actually fairly common element to a number of mecha series, we just like to associate it with G Gundam because it was out of the norm for a Gundam series, and the nature of the show placed extra emphasis upon it), and we are pretty much guaranteed some super robot elements due to the nature of this show. Other than that, they are completely different.
DeleteHonestly, it looks like it borrows a lot of elements from a bunch of other Gundams. I mainly see elements from Beginning Gundam, due to the backpack and overall body shape, with some extra elements from Gundam X and Extreme (clear blue/orange parts across the body), Victory (arms), Freedom (shoulder thrusters) and I get just a little bit of a Destiny or Strike Freedom vibe from the head
DeleteIt's actually an Impulse mod. look at that chest, and the "backpack" appears to be plugged in just like a core splendor.

DeleteI notice that all the hands appear to have a secondary hinge in the wrist. I wonder if there'll be separate hinges for each hand, or we have only two to work with, because those hinges kinda scare me. I've had other kits that use small hinges in the hands, and almost always whenever you want to take the hand off, the hinge separates first, and the more you connect and disconnect them, the more likely it becomes for the hinge to develop stress marks and eventually break.

DeleteIt is based on Impulse Gundam. The name Burning was derived from its color: Red. Just like Lightning Gundam, which is Blue. And Winning Gundam, which is Yellow/ Gold.

ReplyDeleteI sincerely believe the only thing inspired by the Impulse here is the chest and even that is debatable as the Impulse's has a lip to the edge of the cockpit as well as a more uniform, streamlined look while the build burning is more angular with the only rounded part being the cockpit area and its lack of the hard edged lip. Also the backpack looks way too much like a universal adapter for it to be a core-lander or whatever Impulse had in its back. The whole thing looks like a mish-mash of other gundams but the biggest thing that sticks out to me is the spherical abdomen. It looks like the newer designs from Reconguista In G.
