  5. So far it doesn't look as bad as the Nightingale, gets my hopes up for the GP04. Still wishing it would come as MG though.

  6. never underestimate Bandai's ability to totally screw up the proportion of beautiful 80s designs. Sometimes I wonder about the Zeta and Seed eras of kits especially, have they even watched their own shows to know the power the design is meant to have???

    1. its proportions are pretty fucking accurate, based on the old lineart, I'm digging the oldschool proportions and looking forward to building the kit.

ps. Seed's ms design's skinny proprtions suck (except for the GAT-X series and astray, in which i love)

    2. Totally agree. They went too far when they gave Airmaster HGAW those skinny legs

    3. 80s and 90s suits are sexy

I know right?! GAT-X series look great. Ain't much of a fan of the suits that come later in the show. They're abit, overpowering. (Dragoons are then over used.)

  7. Everything looks good except for that calves. Not sure if it's the camera angle but they look a little too slender.

  8. Man, i remember back when 1/100s just meant 2 halves, a joint, and decent potability for a cheap price. Yeah the suits were sometimes inaccurate, but they weren't that bad, were they? Why can't we get simple, cheap 1/100's that give us a good representation of the mobile suit without all these expensive ass gimmicks? Who else misses that day?

    1. Gimmicks are sometimes called innovations and are part of what makes a kit sell. If you want to go back to the old brick-type gunpla, there's always Standart.

    2. I don't think they meant any harm, i think what they were saying was that bandai should make more 1/100 hg
kits in HGUC style but in a bigger scale. They probably just didn't word it correctly.

    3. Then just buy that old kits.

    4. I see what you mean if you're talking about the 1/100 seed, destiny and season 1 00 kits, but PLEASE
say you're not talking about going back to the old glue together style kits that didn't even remotely
      look like the suits.

  9. I hope other series than Gundam make it to RE1/100. Imagine how cool a RE1/100 Dragonar series or Dunbine or Layzner?

    1. Theres a master grade dunbine, and R3 Layzner waiting on you.

    2. That line are discontinued sadly. Other plamo series from bandai beside gunpla won't long last, I don't kno why.

    3. Marketing. Gundam has a reach no other mecha anime/video game series has. And besides, RE/100 has just started. They'll be using the line for Gundam stuff first before diving into "uncharted territory".

  11. Makes me wonder why bandai didn't just make a frame like the RG's and make a bunch of suits with that frame

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because by then they can just label it as "Master Grade". The RG frames are made that way to give the 1/144 scale a frame that is similar to the MG. You can reverse engineer the technology for the 1/100 scale, but then, it would cost the same as the MG.

      Delete
  12. You mean like the old 1/144 v gundam kits frame?

  13. Cool design. Not too keen on the color. The feet seem a tad too big. Same with the hands. Just ever so slightly big.

  14. Did they really have to make this a RE 1/00 release? Is it big? I think this is something that should have been given the MG treatment...

Not a fan of UC (of course), but I'm sure there are some hardcore UC fans that are at least a little upset at this not getting the MG treatment.

Anyway, I guess these RE 1/100 is better than nothing, and they're basically a step up from the 1/100 No Grade line.

    1. I don't understand this "(of course)"

    2. Why is there a need for you to say that you're not a UC fan, you already said that for so many times. And you already bashed (or poorly criticized) most of its Gunpla kits before, so you'll be labeled as an anti-UC. And the reasons why you bought some UC kits is for you to sell them later in inflated price LOL.
Currently, the Mk-III is not a well-known suit so its reasonable for it to be included in RE line rather than MG. That is one of the reasons of RE's existence: to give chance to the kits that are too large, costly or obscure.
There may be hardcore fans that want this suit in MG, but that might be few because as already said above, it isn't a well-known suit.

    3. RE/100 isn't just for the big: it's also for those designs that range from the obscure to the hardcore favorites. Basically designs that are unlikely to be seen in MG because of one reason or another. It's not easy to design molds, produce them, and then sell them for profit, especially since a lot of the newer MGs are getting better technology wise, with better details, and construction.

Mark III was never featured in any story, it's basically an MSV. GP04 is also an MSV. Dijeh, being an Amuro suit nonetheless, isn't a design that's big among casual collectors. The Nightingale is too big for an MG. RE/100 offers to make these suits for almost half the price it would have had as an MG. That's a good offer in itself.

I wouldn't call the RE/100 as better than nothing. It's worlds apart from the No Grade line. I own a Nightingale, and even though it lacks stickers and decals, it has sufficient detail that you can bring out with good old panel-lining. And besides, this line offers a better chance for designs like the Kshatriya to be made in the 1/100 scale.

  15. MG for niche ms's would be unwise considering they do not have a mainstream series to back them with purchases. The RE series is dedicated for niche mobile suits for those who don't want to bother making modifications or buying garage kits for the same suit. In my opinion, I could care less if they were MG, I'm glad they're giving an entry for these lesser known mobile suits.

  16. RE 100 is fine and all but i would really love to see a HGUC ver. Of all the RE kits released in the future
