A Gundam Build Fighters emergency dispatch image is currently on display at the 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show 2014. The image shows the text 'NEXT FIGHTERS STANDBY', which probably is a teaser referring to possible new characters in this new series project. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available!

More and more news stories on Reconguista of G are saying that it will be a movie. I wish we could get a clarification from Bamco.

Not very fond of it. Missed the real gundam shows. The ones with real wars and real politics. Not just some kid show trying to sell gunplas....

DeleteMost of the war drama in Gundam shows is fluffed, reversed and flipped around so often it doesnt really lead to a good war narrative. At least with GBF you know where things are, and can enjoy the animation, the cameos, the new designs, and great fights (because the gunpla can be rebuilt in a day). You are also kidding yourself if you dont realize the "cool factor" of gundam designs went way way up when they started selling more gunpla kits. I'd say they make a ton more cash on the kits than the show.
DeleteThe other big thing about this format is that it allows them to animate full power, full contact fights with lethal hits again with a clean conscience and not have some kid flying around going 'War is bad! Stop fighting!' while chopping limbs off of enemies.

ReplyDeleteNot hating SEED mechas or anything related to SEED but hopefully the new protagonist won't use another Strike variant. I kind of sick of Strike variants.

But still I want to see the new protagonist use a Freedom, Impulse or Destiny variant than a Strike variant as the Strike Gundam have too many Gunpla variants: the standard red, white and blue colors, the pink and red Rouge recolor, Akatsuki, HG Cosmic Era reversions, and Build Strike.
DeleteAlso forget about a RX-78-2 variant or other Universal Century Gunpla variants being the new protagonist's main mecha, it will never happen as U.C., 00 or other Era Gunplas will still be secondary mechas for any protagonist in Gundam Build Fighters I think.

ReplyDeleteThe Gundam 00 season 2 and GN-RE MS would be in Gundam Build Fighters Season 2 as Sunrise should have cleared all restrictions for any still new 00 media by now.
DeleteAs for Gundam AGE, unless Sunrise buys back the rest of AGE's copyrights still no MS and more character likeness from AGE will appear in any Gunpla anime at all as a financial reason.
I wouldn't mind a new character as long, as previous characters made some type of cameo
