From the top its silhouette is much more similar to the Interceptor the the regular Tie what with the body positioned further back in the wings and then there's the overall more squat appearance. Plus, the modeler named it after the Tie Interceptor...
Looks more like a Ball Advanced X1 than a Ball Interceptor to me. If it was a Ball Interceptor...where's the red strip for the 181st MA Interception wing? XP
I was actually thinking of making a Ball/Tie Fighter crossover myself recently. My plan though was to use the wings from a Fine Molds 1/72 Tie Fighter though.
I kind of like this better though since it uses all Gunpla parts. I never thought of using shields for the side panels. Though I actually think it might look a bit better if the guns were moved to the inside wall of the shields and not attached to the ball.
Also dear lord I hope that price on the Mr Color Thinner bottle isn't in US dollars!
