This may be a really dumb question but can the HG stuff cross over to the RG stuff? I have an RG Zeta and I would really like to do something like this to it.
I think this HG parts can work with RG models, u might just need to modify a little bit on your RG model kit.. there are some HG xRG cross over models for a while now.
Depends... the build strike's packs can fit on rg strike but something like the zeta might not be as easy to trade gear... of course if you modify the pieces a little they would fit no problem
There was once an article (or a link) here in Gundam Guy about a tutorial in making an RG Build Mk. II which showed how to combine an HGBF Build Mk. II with an RG Gundam Mk. II (AEUG colors). The official site where it was shown, however, was in Japanese.
But your idea of combining an RG Zeta Gundam with HGBC Caletvwlch Honoo parts is possible, you just need to modify some parts, as said by others here. In fact, if my observation is correct, the only part you need to modify in the RG Zeta is the head, the crotch part (an HGBC Battle Arms part is needed here), and the center part of the backpack (for the Shiranui Striker Pack). The only problem would be the transformation gimmick - how to fold the v-fin when transforming it (removing the head could be an option, though).

Go to 1998.co.jp/eng/ and look up the hg zeta, they have the manual scaned if it has the same connections then it should work.

Yeah since they both 1/144. Its like the RG freedom matching up with HG meteor or new RG 00 and old HG GN Arms.
