  1. ASSSPULL WINS!

Btw, I always love when tacticians are portrayed as cheaters, because you know, the good guys can only have a mindless aggro behavior

  2. It's been a while since I have seen such a good episode in Build Fighter with great battle sequences.
I will say that it was kind of a let down to see Yuuki pull such BS out of his ass to win the fight. Good episode none the less. I wonder what Yuuki is going to do about his Kampher being all damaged like this. Maybe he'll also get an updated version like how Sei made the Star Build Strike? Speaking of which, where's the Build Gundam MK 2? What happened that that one? Did they just forget about it?

    1. The Build Mark II has always just been a back up Gunpla for when the BS/SBS is out of commission, and considering what it's capable of compared to the SBS, it seems unlikely that its replacement status is ever going to change. It was used as a back-up in the World Tournament after the SBS's arm was damaged in the baseball match. It just wasn't used in an actual fighting battle.

    2. they've used it in the episode "Codename C" I guess

    3. Considering that Star Build Strike is far superior, there's no reason to use Build Gundam Mk-II at the tournament final anymore, right?
Well, 'forgotten already' might be the word.

    4. Funny enough the Build Gundam MK II was used in the 3 on 3 battle in which it did NOTHING at all and still won! Talk about a leecher there! Other than the battles and the race, it doesn't seem like skill was involved in the other "fun" battles like target practice and throwing bags into baskets.

Then again, that 3 on 3 battle pays homage to Gundam Wing's Mercurius and Vayeate battle style of Mercurius used for defence while Vayeate is used for attack (in this case, Satellite Cannon > Beam Cannon all day).

  3. That was amazing, pun intended.

  4. I don't see that one as an asspull here. The Renato brothers want to strip Yuuki of all his weapons and it worked to an extent. Problem was they did not do it properly since they forgot to destroy ALL the weapons (with their bloodhound) and left the 2 weapons that ultimately led to their defeat. Great strategy in a lot of other battles where you can retrieve weapons after your victory but it's pointless in gunpla battles.

Tacticians aren't necessarily cheaters, but the spirit of gunpla battles is to fight head-on and the last person standing is the victor. Clearly Sei and Reiji used tactics against Fellini as well and it was called smart but when those brothers do it, it's not as fair since they even incorporated 1/144 Zeon guys to blow up joints. Luang is a prime example of a guy fighting head-on with the skill to back it up (that's why he is a favored battler to win it all) but he lost to cheap tricks. I would've liked to see Luang vs Yuuki to see who has better skills though.

It was hilarious when the German guy brought in a GAW attack carrier but if those are full of Zeon soldiers and MS using those tactics, then the gunpla battle is then just stupid. Heck, if anyone wants to take this to an extreme, they'll just build a gamebreaker using one of those superweapons like Genesis, make multiples of it with different firing angles and make it able to fire multiple shots with no recharge time.

    1. The asspull goes to the fact that there is now way that chain gun can fit in the weapons container (check the 2nd image counting from below)

Also they fell from a significant height, but still worked flawlessly.

    2. I actually ordered a Amazing Weapons Binder just to check if the guns from either SW001 or SW006 would fit in it.

      Delete
    3. already went what when he pulled out missile launcher of double container thickness

      and then the chain gun

now, bandai, where's my amazing assault binder

  5. I expected the K9 unit to run with its legs, not just hover around lol. While the Amazing Kampfer is using galting gun on GM Sniper, the K9 unit can actually shot him down. Too bad the Brother get cocky when they think they are going to win the fight.

    1. I guess its easy to animate it hovering around instead of drawing moving legs.

  6. that GM sniper K9 is TITS

  7. It was great until Meijin pulled some BS in the end. Renato brothers should've went on.

    1. Bullshit? If you actually paid attention to every detail of the fight you would have seen the weapon container clearly fall towards the fountain during the early part of the fight.
Its not bullshit when nobody notices the little zeon soldiers plant bombs on Luang's kit during a well lit and outdoors based arena, but of course its bullshit when Yuuki uses a weapon clearly shown to have fallen earlier.

    2. Indeed, the Renato brothers were dominating the battle all the way till the end, but they lost to plot armor and convenient script writing.

    3. I'm gonna say BS on the fact that the minigun could not have fit in one of those weapon binders.

  8. How i wish Kapfer Amazing came with all those extra weapons....

Also EXAM GM Sniper K9 was one of the most OP suits so far.

    1. I don't see it as OP, they're not even using plavsky magic other than the implementation of EXAM.

In any case, Kampfer Amazing seems use plavsky particles of its own though not as magical as SBS's wings, X Maoh's cannon and sword, or Sengoku Astray's vacuum slashes.

  9. I do like how the battle was won by situational awareness :D

Nice to see the EXAM system getting a mention too

  10. so spectacular thrilling chilling episode of tactics + Terrain being used in combination in a showdown. only the persistance and determination of Meijin seeking out his discarded weapon container made him win this match with NO Trickery whatsoever. looking forward to next match

  11. the reason renato brother lost is because they kept talking instead of delivering the final shot. talk about cliche

  12. I wish the Kampfer Amazing had all the weapons it had in HG 1/144. That would make my freakin life

  13. Wait a miniute. Isn't the "weapons placed all over the battlefield" strategy used by the Cyclops Team in 0080? They had hidden weapons caches all over the Libot Colony when fighting the Gundam NT-1 "Alex"

    1. I think that the episode had references to War in a Pocket The weapons all over the battlefield thing you mentioned was spot on. The fights both happened in urban environments. The scene where the Kampfer Amazing uses a gatling gun/mini gun to punch holes in the K9 was reminiscent of the way the Alex took out the Kampfer. The scene when the Kampfer Amazing emerged from the dome relatively in one piece after the Zeon soldiers' bombs went off had the same vibes as when the Alex got hit with the Kampfer's chain mine but emerged from the explosion unharmed (minus the Chobham Armor). The K9 having a Dog Pack reminded me of the GM Sniper II's Draken E. The K9 falling/jumping from the high building was also like the scene were the GMs and Guncannons descended on the city in War in a Pocket.

  14. Revenge of the 0080 GMs! Almost, anyway...

I would have preferred that Yuuki lost. Way better for character development.

  16. Hahaha now the GM Sniper K9knows how the Kampfer felt in 0080

  17. The problem is not with the unit - GM Sniper K9, it's with the brothers. One look at their faces and you can guess they won't go far in the tournament. It would have been sweet to see a GM Sniper take out a Kampfer but alas so close and yet so far.

  18. I like how people are calling the chaingun an asspull (Despite the fact that it could very well be compacted when inside the binder and merely expands for use like many weapons in the series) and not the fact that the 144 scale zeon soldiers aren't even gunpla to begin with and thus clearly a cheating tactic. The bullshit is the Renato brothers' plot armour. The Exam system was never hinted anywhere and that rifle's ability to stop the Abigorbine's beam scythes came out of nowhere for no reason other than to curbstomp it and hype them up. Every other weapon in the series that was hit with a beam saber was damaged (You see the Star Build Strike's shield being blow up every fight it has from just being grazes sometimes) but this one rifle that is apparently light enough to mount on that bloodhound wasn't even scratched.

    1. Technically the 1/144 Zeon Soldiers are Gunpla: the HG Ground War Set has said soldiers included with the kit, and it's also touted as one of the K9's features in its manual.

      Delete
    2. They're static figures, they don't even have joints to move as they did. No, they're not gunpla any more than the static cockpit pilot figures in every MG kit are, they're basically decorations even if they are included.

  19. Jeez , even only gm sniper but that mobile suit is really tough against kampfer amazing if not using cheap trick . But their tactic also very impressive those brother . This episode really good fight .

  20. To me, the Renato Brothers' GM Sniper K9 should be the winner in the episode because of their brilliant tactics and more close-to-realism battle style. But then again, the relevancy of Meijin Kawaguchi is still pretty sound in the anime than the Renato bros and it is pretty predictable that Sunrise/Bandai would pull out such a twist to maintain Meijin Kawaguchi's continuation. Therefore, this is downright POPULIST to me and Meijin Kawaguchi is an overrated BIEBER type. What do I expect of a CHILDREN anime?

I really do enjoy the Renato Bros' use of real life war tactics and strategy in this episode, which are much more practical than Meijin Kawaguchi's MATRIX fantasy moves. If I were the Renato bros, I would have use GRAPPLE techniques to pin down the Kampfer Amazing, fracture it's joints and finish it off. Meijin Kawaguchi is the REAL LOSER in this episode and I believe that he might not stand a chance against Aina and her Qubeley Papillon in the semi.

As they always say, all is fair in war and love. War is all about DECEPTIONS, but then again, War is too complicated for CHILDREN to understand. After all, this is just GUNPLA BATTLE~

    1. Aila*, and they're from different brackets (Aila is in Sei/Reiji's bracket), Meijin will never be able to fight Aila unless she proceeds to finals.

  22. with this episode I hope bandai will make MG both kampfer (with all weapon) amazing and k9 :D

  23. Snipe dog.
    Soldiers in suits :P

A look at the results after the first round.

    lol! "A meijin"

Mao! And the guys looks weird.

Sudden thought that in the end everyone contribute a part of their Gunpla to Sei/Reiji to help fix up a super broken Build Strike. Then the kitbash of kitbash will defeat the last boss.

    Same formula again.
First half some story, second half battle.

Reiji and Aila get along so well :P

The mission of the Meijin is to win!
    And then...??
Why did Yuuki take up the Mejin title?
What is his relationship with the person who was ill?

First Kawaguchi is the real Kawaguchi, Yuuki is the 3rd.
Wonder hows the 2nd one like?

I guess the food is free?

It will be interesting to see Reiji and Aila clash in Gunpla Battle.
lol, maybe the Kamen Nemesis mask will crack mid-battle :P

Kind of hoping Kawaguchi will make the K9 shoot its own backpack.

WTF! Plavsky magic on those mini figures!

    LOL! Grease!
I thought they replaced the joints with titanium ones or something.

    Plavsky EXAM system, lol.

    Nice battle :)

Wonder what is the Renato bros' story?
What drove them? Is Argentina a war torn place?
Will they come back as disturbers under the Chairman?

I wish they can update the CM :P

Looks like the next ep will have some nice battle as well.

    1. Maybe in this future. There is a new war between Argentina and the UK? Since the Falkland Wars is the only major war that Argentina took part in.

  24. I like how there are complaints of plot working against the brothers - when they're pulling the EXAM power up out of no-where and relying on 1/144 zeon figures to cripple their opponents without having to fight them - defeating the entire purpose of this tournament.

All they have is plot working for them. Praising their actions as strategic genius when strategy is exactly what beats them is hilarious.

  25. This episode is like in G Gundam, Gentle Chapman getting his ass kicked by Master Asia. Screw your sniper tactics, a real man fights head-on.

    1. That awkward moment when you realize that those that used swords failed:
      - Yuuki attempted to go close range to the tower ended up getting sniped by the (autopilot) dog
      - Yuuki rushed towards the K9 with a beam saber after destroying the GM's 2 beam pistols ended up on the losing side to the "never-mentioned-and-came-out-of-nowhere" EXAM system
      - K9 walks slowly to destroy the Kampler and is met with a chain/machine gun leading to its death

And of course, Luang Dallara going close range and getting destroyed by cheap tactics.

So yeah... I think this episode actually is saying fighting head-on leads to your doom.
