Smart, you mean making brand new moulds for a suit that has to sell for upwards of 10000 yen? Bandai at least had the sense of reusing existing moulds for everything in the Phenex barring the fin and the Armed Armors for the MG version. Even assuming Bandai would reuse the HD Strike's inner frame that still leaves the entirety of the outer armour and the packs as brand new moulds for a kit that absolutely has to sell for a sum almost as large as a MG The O or Sazabi Ver Ka without the advantage of the massive size to justify that cost.
the only "smart" thing that bandai could have done is completing the seed/destiny MG line up with justice and freedom rm/2.0. honestly i don't have a really high hopes about providence and/or legend, but at least justice and freedom in MG would make the current seed mg become "complete". still,that's just IMO though.
Unplated should be a regular release and the plated version could be a Online Hobby Shop exclusive with effect parts or some other extras. Hell it will be redesigned anyway so just use stuff from the Ootori and Full Package to make the Owashi and the only thing that would actually have to make with all new stuff would be the Shiranui. All three Strikes were what 4200? Akatsuki "regular" release could be 5200 - 5500 easy and be the end of it.
I wish Bandai could be smart and make a MG for Akatsuki with the Ohwashy and Shiranuwo pack.
