There's a certain point before "awesome" and "more presentable" is overdone and it starts to look like glued-together crap. A lot of entries this year crossed that line.
One of the cleanest, most presentable looking kits from the country is actually from a new challenger who didn't use much (or perhaps not any) scratchbuilt parts.
We need to work on our original concepts or at least, something that truly conveys our feelings instead of simply riding on the latest trends or the last year's champion's style. As stated in the NA rules: "The spirit of the competition is to make the Gundam kit in your own vision not somebody else." Not a lot of entries from our country gave such an impression.
This is simply racist. Some Filipino modelers do suck, but not all; and a modeler always has reasons on what he/she does to his/her models. This "over compensation" could just be his own style of art. If you wanna judge Filipinos more, come visit my blog and judge me. meistersleek.blogspot.com I am a Filipino, I certainly am not proud of my country, but I am proud of my country's modelers.
Guy's this may be a late reply but this issue regarding being racist is wrong. People can express themselves in there own way so regardless of how the gunpla they build looks it depends on them. It's your own choice if you really feel you don't like it but that is just how they are so keep your comment if it will not provide a positive outlook for them to do better.
Ugh, I hate this trend of making things as huge as possible. I'll just go ahead and ask it, are these guys overcompensating or something?
ReplyDeleteWell they ARE from the Philippines...
Deleteso we ARE form the Philippines?? is there any problem??
DeleteOf course there's a problem. Your Gunpla building skills suck.
Deletehey moron have you ever build one yourself! let us be the judge! stop hating! idiot!!!
DeleteWhat a waste of good gunpla kits.
ReplyDeleteat least Philippines have guts to make their kits look awesome and more presentable compare to the other countries entries.
ReplyDeleteRemember the G-exes standing in a pile of poo?
DeleteI wouldn't call that awesome or more presentable. Gunpla builders from other countries are far better.
