Thats because RX-78-2 is the first the original gundam. Strike is a bland mass produced gundam with a poorly written show that made me sad to be a gundam fan once it hit destiny
Delete0079 was no masterpiece, dude. Plus, we're talking about model kits, not TV series. Strike is a more modern design. It's more appealing to a lot of people than the blocky, outdated RX-78.

DeleteMan, this thing would be awesome if it was symmetrical...but the beam rifle looks awesome. As for the bike, its so weird that its charming. Hope the include a symmetrical option HGs are known for.

DeleteSymmetrical are for classic designs. New wing without twist are boring. This is the age of asymmetrical beauty.
Delete@anon 5:27 - I'd be fine with just the wing options. The shoulders are fine just the way they are, and even the head and v-fin.
Delete@anon 8:23 - ah, well the nu certainly got me with that feeling. XD Still, wing designs were mostly symmetrical. Also options never hurt. If I get bored with the regular configuration I could always go with the Fenis' build.
Oh, sorry guess the term I used was misleading. The options I mentioned about are the tendencies of HGs to include parts from the base design when they release a remold such as this. An example is the delta Kai, which contained a lot of parts from the delta plus, specifically the beam rifle and the shoulder parts. So with this I'm hoping they include a full set of the green armor and the option to attach one wing on the other side.

Buy two of this and make those wings symmetrical then. That and you also get another of that awesome customized buster rifle and the beam cloak.

The asymmetrical design reminds me of Rose Gundam.

Maybe a mid-series upgrade Ricardo switches the Wing Gundam wings with that of Strike Freedom then it will have the Dragoon ability.

Wait so we can really get a symmetrical version of this kit? I've been looking at the builders HG kit line-up and I like the weapons they use but this MS design seems too exotic and impractical for my tastes. I also don't like the fact that W-gundam only had two weapons.
DeleteOne possibility is that the basic Wing parts are included so you only need 1 kit, just use those parts instead of the custom parts.

DeleteThe design seems a little too "try hard" with the mishmash in the head. That's the only issue I have. I love the bulkier beam rifle, the beam cape and rapier. I say swap the location of the wings on the other shoulder and put the rifle I the left for easier access assuming the pilot is right handed. It's growing on me the I think about it.

ReplyDeleteGreat that the larger part of the wings are placed after the old shoulders in the tree. I can use the old shoulders and old vfin and make this look a re-modified wing gundam with the Meteor hopper
