The other reason for using PS frame (aside from the paint issue with ABS) is that it is better for Bandai to use less materials in their kits. They actually would like to only use one type of plastic in all their kits. Its easier to recycle and I believe they get some kind of $ bonus for that. PS is probably better for the environment, too
The PS frame weighs less and is harder to break. Though the kits lose a bit of stability and can't hold up as much weight.
Runner separation tabs prove MG Jesta cannon is planned for. Lets hope they decide to release it.
ReplyDeleteFrame seems incompatible with Jegan design though.
crap no ABS frame again :(
ReplyDeletehaha....HAHAHAHAHA!
Deletehmmmm, Bandai decide to use PC part for new MG models, WT hell wrong with Bandai it's new model there is no more PC part on new Model.
ReplyDeleteis there any reason for bandai not use abs anymore??
ReplyDeleteYes because ABS has a random chance of reacting with Greos and Mr Hobby paints which are the paints most used in Japan for Gunpla.
DeleteThe new PVC frames solve that problem. They're not going back to ABS because of solvent paint randomly destroying ABS parts.
It's not a PVC frame, it's a Polystyrene frame. PVC is the material polycaps are made from.
Deleteto first anon, interesting i had no idea about that, thanks for the explanation. but isn't the new type of frame weaker than the ABS ones??
Deleteis there any other reason besides painting problem ?
DeleteI can't seem to figure out where the green sticker goes because there doesn't seem to be a green camera on the kit. Does anybody have any ideas?
Deleteits for that little box on the right communicator of the helmet. is it the only sticker on the kit?
DeleteThanks I didn't see because I didn't have any high quality photos in front of me.
