Gundam UC Manga Launches with Bright Noa as Protagonist [News via AnimeNewsNetwork]

Gundam AGE's Hiyon Katsuragi draws Gundam UC: Niji ni Norenakatta Otoko

Author Harutoshi Fukui and artist Hiyon Katsuragi launched their Kidō Senshi Gundam UC: Niji ni Norenakatta Otoko (Mobile Suit Gundam UC: The Man Who Could Not Ride the Rainbow) manga in the 18th issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype Ace magazine on Saturday. The manga is an adaptation of Fukui's Mobile Suit Gundam UC novel and anime franchise. It is set immediately after the events of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack film and follows the growth of Bright Noa, the commander of three successive Gundam Newtype ace pilots. In addition to the manga, the magazine published an interview with Fukui.

Katsuragi also drew the Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: First Evolution manga in Kadokawa Shoten's Gundam Ace magazine in 2011.

  4. If the story is set immediately after CCA, then Bright should still be wearing the same uniform from CCA instead of the uniform he is wearing in UC. I think the Londo Bell uniform in CCA looked much cooler and different than the standard EFSF uniform. Just saying.

  6. Hmm Bright's a good supporting character but I'm curious to see if he can carry his own story.

  9. The title is somewhat sarcastic and ironic; "The Man Who didn't Manage to Ride The Rainbow"...

"The Rainbow" refers to the optical phenomena caused by Amuro overloading the Psycho-frame...

There's no need to go as far as to disowning Hathaway, but the kid definitely needs some Bright Noa's "Correction Punch".

UC timeline is still the best !

    1. Hathaway needs more than a "correction punch" for what he did to Chan.
