Gundam Café to Branch Out Into Other Cities in Japan [News via AnimeNewsNetwork]

Cafés in Osaka, Nagoya, other metropolitan areas planned after 3rd Tokyo cafe opens
Bandai announced plans on Friday to expand its Gundam Café chain into the Osaka, Nagoya, Hiroshima, and similar metropolitan areas. The company will open a third Tokyo cafe at the main Tokyo Station's First Avenue area on Thursday.

There are already two Tokyo-area Gundam Cafés open at the Akihabara Japan Railway station and on Odaiba island. There was a Gundam Café — the first official Gundam-themed restaurant — in the Bandai Museum in the nearby city of Matsudo before the museum closed in 2006.
The Akihabara café receives about 400,000 customers per year with sales exceeding Bandai's 200-million-yen (about US$2.4-million) target.
