In my point of view, Bandai create perfect Strike so that Mu can fight fairer against Rau in his Providence Gundam. Because it is obvious that Providence is far more superior to Aile Strike even though the pilots of both units have equal skill. So, it is a flaw in the original story that Mu in his Aile Strike can hold himself against Providence for a short while (Even though I agree that Aile Strike is slightly more agile than Providence) while Freedom able to fight on par with Providence (It is so unfair for me in the original series that both Mu and Kira able to equally match Providence even though Kira has better Gundam and he is suppose to be stronger than Mu as he is the Ultimate Coordinator)
I've always considered Rau to be a better pilot than Mu since he emerged winner in all of their encounters, but it's hard to confirm since Rau always had the more advanced machine (and at Mendel the GuAIZ was a bad match to Launcher Strike). But I'm quite sure in the last battle Rau was going easy on Mu at first so that they can have a last talk, 'cause when Rau used the 3 bigger DRAGOON pods he crippled the Strike in seconds. If Rau'd used the full beam barrage at the start, Mu wouldn't have been able to keep up with him.
