no, it's suppose to be like that. the base model of this is not the nu gundam from bandai, but a fake one from a chinese company. however, despite it being a fake, the design of the kits and quality is surprisingly good. as for the chest vents, for some reason they were designed like that, at least in the manual that's what they told us to do...
