Well, I wouldn't state such taste as a matter of fact, Anon, since everyone has a different taste on any given subject. Personally, I think both sides have great weapons fitting for the aesthetic styles of the MSs each side deploys. But if I had to pick one or the other in preference, then I would probably say the uniqueness of the Zaku machine gun (with the round ammo drum at the top) seems aesthetically better to me.
Still, it doesn't make enough of a difference for me in choosing one side or the other on their aesthetics, let alone in whether I would get this product for my models or not. (Besides, when it comes to MSs and weaponry for MSs, I'd sooner go for an AU's faction before UC's Fed or Zeon.)
EFSF's guns looks better than Zeon's ones, and thus, I'm keen in this set.

The Shotbarrel rifle looks more appropriate for commando missions, like GMs attuned for urban warfare
