PSP: Gundam Memories ~ Tatakai no Kioku - Announced!!!

PSP: Gundam Memories ~ Tatakai no Kioku (Release Date: Jun. 23rd 2011, Price: TBA)
Weekly Famitsu has a first look this week at the latest Gundam game adaptation, Gundam Memories: Tatakai no Kioku (that can possibly translate to "Memories of the Battle.")
This upcoming PSP Gundam action game title features the MS Shift System that allows player to begin each mission by choosing 3 mobile suits, in which the player can switch between during the mission.  Mobile suits are catagorized into three categories: Melee Type (ie. Gundam 00 Qan[T]), Speed Type (ie. Arios Gundam), and Shooting Type (ie. Kshatriya and Strike Freedom Gundam).

Two modes of gameplay will be available:
Situation Mode: has missions that follows the storyline of Seed Destiny, 00 (Series & Movie), and Gundam UC.
Mission Mode: features original missions created for the game.
The following Gundam series will be featured in this game:
Mobile Suit Gundam
Mobile Suit Z Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack
Mobile Suit Gundam X
Gundam W Endless Waltz
Gundam Seed Destiny
Gundam 00 (including 2nd season)
Gundam 00: A wakening of the Trailblazer Movie
Gundam UC (Unicorn Gundam)
Really looking forward to another fun portable Gundam action game for my PSP.  From the screenshots above, the game looks to depart from the PSP Gundam Assault Survive's mission area branching gameplay, which I personally wouldn't miss too much of.  And with the 3 switchable mobile suits during gameplay, loads of recent Gundam series' mobile suits, and the time tested Gundam Battle Series type of gameplay.... I say we got a nice little PSP Gudnam title to look forward to this year.

  1. Definitely gonna have to get this. I liked Assault Survive, and if this is anything like it; then I'm sure I'll like it as well.

  2. How come there's no Gundam ZZ, Turn A & Burning Gundam series in it?

  3. Of those left out, I think it would've been nice to see how the Gundams and especially the grunts of Turn A (and G Gundam, to a lesser degree) would've performed under the engine of the Battle series. A big disappointment regarding that... Oh, well. Maybe next year, or the year after...? *shrug*

I thought the Gundam vs. engine was better, and I'm also now getting the feel of the ACE series of games through the Portable version. Still, for the Battle series of games to still churn out much like the Gundam vs. series has proves it's longevity, and I kinda liked the ones I tried (up to GAS). At least getting to handle the mecha in-game for the first time was easier than when I first tried ACE Portable.

  4. This is like slapping in the face to people who purchase 3DS to play Gundam3D last week.

  6. Wouldn't that "Gundam UC" be all of UC? E.g. Gundam, Zeta, ZZ, Char's Counterattack, Unicorn, F91, Victory? Because I can see Zeta and Nu and the RX-78, so it'd seem strange to miss out everything else in between..
