Some time has passed since the end of the Universal Century, a history marked by space colonization and space warfare.
Humanity's prosperity, which ushered in a new era known as Reguild Century (R.C.), was believed to endure alongside the global peace.
It is the year R.C.1014.
The Capital Tower is an orbital elevator that rose above the Earth's surface and linked Earth and space. As the conduit of the Photon Battery energy source to the surface, it is regarded as sacred.
Beruri Zenamu is in the middle of training for the Capital Guard (established to protect the Capital Tower), when the tower is attacked by G-Serufu — a highly maneuverable mobile suit with technology that is not from any known country.
Beruri, who joins the battle in the maintenance mobile suit Rekuten, successfully captures the G-Serufu. However, Beruri feels something for the space pirate girl named Aiida Reihanton who piloted the G-Serufu. It is the same feeling he has for G-Serufu, even though he supposedly never seen it before. The G-Serufu, which should only be operable under specific conditions, is somehow started up by Beruri.
The objective of Aiida and the space pirates who attacked the Capital Tower, and the fate followed by Beruri who was chosen by G-Serufu, will lead to truths that will shake the entire Reguild Century era.

Madman Licenses Gundam Reconguista In G to Stream on AnimeLab
The latest Gundam series will be streamed on AnimeLab from Friday the 3rd of October;
Madman Entertainment made the announcement via press release earlier today.
Gundam Reconguista in G will premiere in Australia and New Zealand on AnimeLab.com from Friday the 3rd of October at 8:00am AEST shortly after the Japanese broadcast and new episodes will premiere every following Friday from 7:30am AEST. AnimeLab will be the first service to stream Gundam Reconguista in G outside of Japan. You can visit AnimeLab.com here.
Madman Entertainment will release the series to home video including DVD, Blu-ray and digital at a date to be confirmed.

DeleteNot necessarily; Turn A Gundam didn't have much deaths; it was hardly a bloodbath akin to his outings prior to that series. Also, didn't the Zeta movies and Gundam Evolve 4 (based on Char's Counterattack) take things down a notch? I mean, sure, don't forget his earlier Gundam works where he earned his nickname of "Kill 'em all" Tomino, but in light of what I mentioned, it could turn out to be one of his lighter works in the end.
But we'll not know until it comes out. I'll be looking forward to it's airing.
When he make gundam he's in stress, and it's out of control in Victory that's why he retired from gundam project. Then when he directed Brain Powered and next Turn A he's now less stressful. Even King Gainer only have very few death. From what I see he's now like a person who can enjoy his life. Okay dead will be inevitable but I think not so much as his UC works before.
Deletei think this is the G- reko or G-record yoshiyuki announced 2years back. The setting is similiar. If he did just change the name and not much on the idea. Guys this series is sequel to Victory and G- saviour. Taking place a thousand years into UC timeline, possible serving as a bridge between UC time line and CC(turn A gundam) time line. UC predates CC by at least 3000 years according to the dark history mentioned in Turn A gundam.

ReplyDeleteDesigns look like Eureka 7 so I get the feeling this will be a very generic mecha anime with the Gundam name slapped on the title. I think it's like Gundam Age because people said that it looked stupid and childish and it turned out to be a barely decent Gundam anime at best.
I think I will skip this anime and kits. Not worth it all. Now if they made that Gundam Wing Glory manga into an anime as well as Frozen Teardrops, that would be freaking awesome and worthy of being part of the Gundam history.
In case people haven't read what GG wrote as part of their post about this announcement they mentioned Tomino specifically stated that this series is designed for children of Gundam fans to enjoy and not for fans of UC or the Gundam the Origin. Unlike Gundam Age where people just assumed it's for a younger audience and not meant to be for old school Gundam fans, Tomino states it outright that it's not meant for old school fans. He's essentially saying if you grew up with Mobile Suit Gundam and it's sequels don't expect this to be in the same league as this is meant for your kids to enjoy. That being said I am perfectly content with this series as at least lets you know ahead time what kind of series it will be and what to expect. Again just to send the message home: TOMINO STATED IN HIS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THIS SERIES AT THE KIDOU SENSHI GUNDAM 35TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT THAT THIS SERIES IS NOT MEANT FOR THE UC OR GUNDAM THE ORIGIN FANS BUT FOR CHILDREN OF GUNDAM FANS!!!
ReplyDeleteJust because something is aimed at kids doesn't mean it will be bad or adults can't enjoy it, look at avatar the last airbender or some of the other shows from nickeloneon. I am willing to give this a shot, if we hope for gundam to continue for another 30 years it needs to look for a younger audience as well as the older fans, but the young audience will give some freshness to the fandom.

When GBF was announced, people were spewing hate because it was a "children's show" like AGE. I wasn't talking about the concept of Gunpla Battle or that popular kits were heavily modified (those were around way before GBF). I'm just saying it's second nature for a lot of Western fans to be afraid of change. They don't get that Gundam can't be the same old gritty war story all the time, or that the franchise has to focus on different demographics to keep going. I feel like Bandai doesn't cater to the Western market partly because Western consumers are much angrier and less likely to embrace new ideas compared to Japanese consumers.

Another fun thing is how many Gundam fans complain about how Gundam shows look "kiddy" and childish... which is ironic because that's childish itself xD
DeleteEden Fesi are you joking? Japan freaked out when they saw the Turn A's design. They hate change so much that they are afraid to have any other enemy besides Zeon in UC. They can't even change the faceplate of the main Gundam for the most part. Japan doesn't cater to Western markets because they're Japan and they only really care about Japan. They are intensely afraid of change. Japan is a very traditional conservative society.

I might like watching this since the art style is very similar to Eureka Seven. Can't say anything good or bad about the gundam though.

ReplyDeleteThe Gundam design is not my cup of tea. The awful head and terrible chest vents. And what's with the lights all over the place? Rifle design is fair enough, shield looks awful. Why huge backpacks again, Bandai? They add to the cost of Gunpla and is boring. Though I suppose you can't always use GN-Drives, or an RX-78-2 type booster, maybe one with storage usage like the EZ-8
ReplyDeleteThe protagonist doesn't seem interesting, too happy and with ridiculous/awful looking hair. Guess I like one with conflict like Setsuna F. Seiei, or Heero Yuy. Though I have not been dissapointed with Garrod Ran. Overdone like Flit Asuno, or underdone like Kio Asuno might not be good as well.

DeleteIt is going to flop. This is not the sort of thing kids are into these days. Bandai's smartest move would to be to cater to their existing (very large) fanbase, not distance themselves from it in hopes to expand their product to a new generation with experiments like this.

Gundam X was a more "catastrophic" failure than AGE, but Gundam didn't die then. It certainly didn't die in AGE either. The show hasn't even started and people are calling it a failure. Can't we just wait for it to start before we make conclusions?

So far, they seem nothing alike besides the fact that they're aimed towards children, and they look like they'll be tackling that in a different approach this time than with AGE. Give it a chance people, it has very unique and refreshing designs for a Gundam series. Besides, AGE didn't have a bad reception at all while it aired, it did statistically better than 00's second season.

ReplyDeleteThe suit looks like the curvy offspring of the AGE-1 and the Nirvash; hardly a bad thing in my opinion. Its been a while since we've seen a backpack before, and I like the subtle changes to the head. (Lack of gold antennae, vulcan placement, forehead camera is recessed instead of like a Centurion helmet)
ReplyDeleteAs for the show itself; its set in the future of the UC timeline, but prior to the CC era, meaning its going to be an interesting bridge between what are arguable the most important and beloved series' in the franchise. Combined with the intriguing art direction and promising score in the trailer, this entry doesn't look like it will fail easily. I can't wait.

I watch Gundam Build series and kind of thumb up for the series, a lot of battle in it with all kind of Mecha. sadly they end the story too quick.

I like people here always repeat Kill 'em all words, as like Tomino still like that yet. Which mean they not watch brain powered, turn A and king gainer, or just ignorant about it. And their prejudice "kids show = fail", which mean you older people just want monopolize gundam for yourself and won't give a chance for next generation kids to appreciate gundam. Will you realize kids and youngster is one of reason gundam still survive so far, not only us older fans which some of us only complaining and hating, without give a chance for new things?
