  1. Am I the only one who thinks this looks really bad? Like a blown-up HGUC or something? Seriously, it just looks too simple. The face is bloated and awful. Reminds me of that shitty old MG B-Club conversion kit for the GM Command. And those seam lines down the forearms? THE SEAM LINES DOWN THE FOREARMS? Are we in 1995 again?

Wait, are we sure this isn't an old prototype image of the HGUC? 'Cause, seriously...the ball's been dropped.

    1. It is just the first prototype and images, why you look down a great idea and design from the start? You said it, this is based of the HGUC just more detail and a inner frame. Not even the promotional post have come out explaining its gimmicks or extras. Just wait I´m sure there is more than meets the eye ;)

    2. it's 4500 yen. there's got to be more than what we can currently see...

    3. Like no hollow points on the shield attachment? XD Yep probably that and more like a Hyper bazooka.
Hope they fix the problem with the wrist. My HG has to hold the weapon two handed now...

@darkstar0083: The first images are always the worst. If it was ready then they'd be selling this already. Even if there were seam lines you could fix that with putty or cement. If you don't like don't buy it.

    4. in the end, the jestas main selling point is probably going to be its gimmicks.
still keeping my hopes up that they might surprise us with some optional cannon parts...

    5. and hell lets see them throw in a shield attachment with moving parts.

    6. Well yeah, of course the prototype isn't going to be as crisp as the final product. And yes, the image is of poor resolution. However, we can all agree that we are seeing something very close to the final form. I've never seen a shelf-ready kit deviate from the prototype. The geometry is established and now we await the details and gimmicks. I'm just offering a critical perspective here and I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

A suit of the Jesta's scale should have movable fingers. It doesn't even look like the hands pictured can open. Perhaps it'll come with a set of still-posed manipulators in addition to pose-able hands like the MG Marasai. They didn't get the face right here or on the HGUC rendition. It should be narrower and more T-shaped. And I really think those seam lines are a step backward in terms of creative engineering.

I dunno, guys. This one's not sitting well with me. I'm getting flashbacks of the fantastically underwhelming MG The O. Apples and hand grenades, sure, but the feeling was the same. I really hope I'm proved wrong here.

    7. the hands are probably gonna be recycled from other kits, so theres no need for them to show off any detail in them.
but i feel that im with you in your fear of those forearm seam lines...

    8. it cant possibly be so close to finalizations. rest assured, changes will be made.
not to mention, the resolution of the photo itself is really low, to the point that we can barely make out the bevels in the faceplate. and there are bevels in the faceplate.

    9. Maybe if we bitch up a big enough storm about it. Go on boycott or something (a fine time to go on boycott, right? Now I'm hearing murmurs of THREE other HGUC announcements.) I get way too worked up about stuff that doesn't matter.

    10. MG Nu ver. Ka's prototype had the standard Hi-Nu type hands before the PG style hands were unveiled.
Also, remember how crappy MG Epyon looked in the first colored images before showroom and official promo images showed up? The final product had a much more sharply defined face to boot.
The kit may not look the greatest now, but don't give up faith yet.

    11. I'm pretty sure that the extremely early prototypes of Heavyarms and Sandrock reused old 1/100 no/high grade kits as mock ups. It seems possible that this could be a similar case.

  2. Its an early prototype most likely done on a 3d printer, hence the lack of detail...

  3. hoping with all my might that they give us 2.0 fingers...

  4. Looking at the prototype.. its obviously HGUC version, the seamlines on the arm screams HGUC for me lol, they maybe dont have a hard prototype yet so they use a replacement, 1/100 version of HGUC

  5. THIS IS A HGUC PROTOTYPE.
MG PROTOTYPE IS NOT COMPLETE YET.

  6. The proportion seems a bit off. I like HGUC Jsta proportion better than this

    1. This is the old HG prototype. MG prototype is not ready yet.
So you are obviously confused if you dont like the proportions of this but claim to prefer the HG proportions.

  7. With the price, I foresee they will include a Base Jabber..... No way could this be a 4500 yen kit, it's a GM after all

    1. or maybe the cannon parts...

    2. Or the hovercraft maybe?

    3. ^ the hovercrafts from episode 4 and 5 are called base jabbers.

    4. "it's a GM after all" - No GM, Boy. NO GM !

    5. @anon 5:40pm: Maybe anon 4:24pm refer to LCAC (Landing Craft - Air Cushion) as seen in the novel illustration or hobby mags. And yeah, that ain't Base Jabber.
Personally I'm worried about its huge legs. I wonder if it can do proper kneeling pose.

  8. Bandai's gonna put 20 joints in the knees no need to worry! lol

  9. I suspected the high price for this is that it may have parts to convert to Jesta Cannon, which may be the reason why it will be release after Jesta Cannon HGUC or the reason why it is annuonced this late together with the Jesta Cannon.

  10. Y4500 and above are the realm of boss ms, transformable ones and those with a whole lot of accessories. jesta only qualifies for the last one.

  11. The prototypes obviously disappointing, and I must say the proportions on the hguc were a bit off. Still, I trust Bandai. This prototype is waayyyyy before the release. It could even be 5 or 6 months before they release the full kit. They'll pull it off. They (almost) always do.

  12. has anyone looked closely at its hands and shoulder joint?

this is clearly the HGUC and for whatever reason this was mixed up and is displayed as the MG..

  13. expecting to see some mg nu gundam ver ka articulation on this thing when its done!

  14. Why do Bandai produce MG units such as Zaku I sniper ,Angelo suapers Geara zulu, Geara Zulu Guard Custom or even Geara Doga. Other hobby shop had made them but bandai hasn't planned for them at all. Especially the Kshatriya who has a good sense of style at all....

  15. Hopefully if Bandai can produce grunts units in 1/144 scale I bet its better they reproduce it in 1/100 scale. Oh I like them specially the Jadg Doga, Zaku units & even ZAKU II A-BAO-A-QU which has become a limited edition. Gundam units would never become soooo special without the help of grunts that becoome scraps in the end.... XD
